Yaz Heart Attack
A Yaz heart attack is a major concern for many women who use the fourth generation contraceptive Yaz. This is because of the presence of the combination of hormones in the drug which has always been a major contributor towards heart attack incidences for many people especially the oral drugs.
With Yaz reported to have the lion’s share of the contraceptive market in the US (at about a fifth), then it is not very hard to imagine how many women use Yaz as a contraceptive. Consequently the number of women complaining of the harmful side effects associated with the drug including heart attacks is quite significant. How many of these women are aware of the potential side effects of this drug is anyone’s guess.
Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals is the manufacturer of Yaz. For a while until fairly recently, the commercials and advertisements that this pharmaceutical giant undertook on the drug contained messages beyond those approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). In addition to promising to treat symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), it also promised to cure or treat those of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and also acne vulgaris or help return clear skin. All this was in addition to little or no mention of the harmful side effects of the drug.
According to the revised commercials and advertisements run by Bayer and even on their website, there are precautions one should take before using Yaz as an oral contraceptive in order to prevent or effectively minimize the probability of suffering a Yaz heart attack. They include advising women who use the drug to desist from smoking and also to give the drug a wide berth if they have a history or a family history of either one or more of the following symptoms:
Heart attack
Stroke
Blood clotting
Pulmonary Embolism
Deep Vein Thrombosis
Chest Pains
Heart diseases
The main reason why women with such a history of any of the above symptoms should avoid using Yaz is the very real danger of an increase in the probability of suffering the same conditions owing to use of the drug.
It is also important for any woman using Yaz to be on the look out for symptoms that may suggest the possibility of suffering a heart attack Such symptoms might include any or more of the following:
Dizziness
Shortness of breath
Nausea or vomiting
Chest pains
Pains in parts of the body like the neck, arms, legs, jaws and so on.
It is important to also note that it is not necessary that a heart attack be sudden as most people imagine. There are thousands of cases where people suffering from heart attacks do not know that they are in a heart attack and often report not being able to explain what they were feeling. In some tragic cases, medical attention is sought a little too late. So any users of Yaz should be aware of these.
Finally, a victim of Yaz heart attack or any other harmful side effect of Yaz might have legal options open to them where they could seek compensation for any losses incurred as a result of these side effects of the drug. There are a number of Yaz lawyers or attorneys who could be of much help. Please go to yaz-lawsuit-attorneys.com for more information. To get more legal information please contact us.
